The Writing Workshop earns top rating from the Federal Bureau of Investigation
John Sturtevant recently completed the first in a series of full-day Business Writing Workshops for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s international legal operations.
The workshops are part of the FBI’s three-day Legat Operations Conferences held through the year. Conference attendees include Legal Attaché Specialists who support top functions at American Embassies around the world.
Workshop participants rated full-day session an average of 9.8 out of a possible 10 for overall excellence and relevance to their jobs.
Participant comments revealed what they most liked about the workshop:
“John’s humor and relevant stories kept us active and engaged all day.”
“I learned practical ways to structure my writing and use specific examples…like the outline John taught us…I will definitely use that tool.”
“I was impressed with how John respected that we know our business…he didn’t force us to adapt his rules…instead, he gave us practical ways to use what we already know to communicate clearly.”
For more than six decades, the FBI has stationed agents and other personnel overseas to help protect Americans by building relationships with principal law enforcement, intelligence, and services around the globe and facilitating a prompt and continuous exchange of information.
The FBI supports Legal Attaché offices—commonly known as Legats—and smaller sub-offices in 75 key cities around the globe, providing coverage for more than 200 countries, territories, and islands. Each office is established through mutual agreement with the host country and is situated in the U.S. embassy or consulate in that nation.
The Legal Attaché program is managed by the Office of International Operations at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
